How pricing works. Small jobs quoted from a photo, same day. Bigger jobs get a free site visit anywhere from Bethlehem to Papamoa. You get one fixed number before anything starts, and no surprises after.

Fence jobs we do most

Posts rotted at the ground line, palings blown off in a westerly, a gate that won't latch, or a whole boundary that needs replacing. Papamoa's sandy ground and the salt air at the Mount are hard on posts and fixings, so most fences around here fail at the posts first. Often we can replace the posts and keep the rest, which is a fraction of a new fence.

How a fence job goes
  1. Send a photo and rough lengthPhone photo along the fence line. That's usually enough to quote.
  2. One fixed priceMaterials, labour, old fence removed if needed. One number.
  3. Booked inMost repairs are a half day. New fences a day or two depending on length.

Fence questions
Do I have to split the cost with the neighbour?

For a boundary fence, you can ask them to under the Fencing Act. We just build it. We'll give you a quote you can show them.

Can you save the existing fence?

Often. If the palings and rails are sound and it's the posts that have gone, we replace the posts and re-hang. Much cheaper.

What about near the beach?

Close to the coast we use hot-dip galvanised or stainless fixings so they don't rust out in a couple of years. It's a small extra that makes the fence last.

Do you stain or paint?

Yes, if you want it done at the same time. Quoted separately so you can decide.
